For me, a spider represents a pinnacle in nature. A creature evolved to be at one with its environment. This painting portrays mans attitude toward nature. Man can respect and be curious of nature, care for it. Man can also destroy and have complete disregard for nature and this is where one of many dichotomies in the human condition occurs.

This is awesome! I think it's very well defined. The texture on the skin is very well done. I really like the reflection off the eye. The eye is beautifully striking. I love the whole piece. Great concept behind the piece, and I think the piece nicely showcases the idea. The spider being very small in size compared to the human shows just how greatly capable and responsible humans are. Fantastique!
